Homemade Chicken & Veggie Pet Food For Cats & Dogs
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs (fully cooked)
- 1 cup cooked pumpkin (plain, no added sugar or spices)
- ½ cup cooked carrots (finely chopped or mashed)
- ½ cup cooked peas (optional)
- 1 boiled egg (chopped)
- ½ cup cooked white rice or quinoa
- 1 tablespoon salmon oil or fish oil (for omega-3 fatty acids)
- Calcium supplement (per your vet’s recommendation, especially important for cats)
- Taurine supplement (mandatory for cats — amount per vet's guidance)
Instructions:
- Fully cook the chicken by boiling, baking, or poaching. Allow to cool and dice or shred.
- Cook the rice or quinoa according to package instructions.
- Steam or boil the carrots and peas until soft, then chop finely.
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken, pumpkin, carrots, peas, egg, and rice.
